Paper Culture – Hip Hip Christmas Card Review

Frankly, I’ve scaled back our Christmas card giving quite a bit each year – it’s sort of a dying tradition these days, isn’t it?  I mean, no one sends snail mail anymore, right?

Unless you live away from your family. Your family that absolutely wants to see cute pictures of your cute kids. Especially at Christmas time. So I was excited when the opportunity presented itself to review Paper Culture‘s sweet card selection.

Because the truth is, good old fashioned mail is still the best sort, in it’s own way. Who hasn’t been pleasantly surprised to see a real life card or letter show up in their mailbox, especially if without occasion? There’s something so personal and edifying about someone taking the time and stamp to reach out to you instead of just shooting you a quick facebook message.

And, let me tell you, Paper Culture has a lot going for it.

Eco-Friendly

For one – they use 100% post consumer recycled paper. That’s right, they don’t cut down a single tree to make your cards. But they don’t stop there. Oh no, these super hipster hippie business folks actually plant a tree for every single order placed with their company. Seriously. They’ve already planted hundreds of thousands of the oxygen creating saplings.

Premium Quality Paper

Dwight Schrute would have him a beet-growing field-day with this stuff. It’s thick and sturdy and artfully crafted.  The cards are printed on 130 lb weight heavy card stock paper (where as most companies 80-110 lb paper). These things are anything but flimsy.

Free Envelope Stuffing

Don’t want to stuff that pretty card stock into envelopes yourself? If you provide the shipping addresses necessary for the recipients of your cards, Paper Culture will stuff and mail your cards for only the price of the stamp – no extra cost. It really doesn’t get simpler than that.

Modern Designs

And their designs are pretty darn sweet, to boot. Clean, bold. I like it. Check out some of the Paper Culture Designs for yourself. In the end I picked a design that allowed me to showcase quite a few pictures because, ya know, that’s what the grandparents really care about.

I found the website easy to use and the photos easily to upload. Also – shhhh, don’t tell anybody but I even used a picture size that they cautioned might be too small and they still turned out just fine.  Whew.

I sort of like the efficiency of ditching the old fashioned fold-open card for this front and back version.

So basically, if you have the funds and desires to invest in some super eco-friendly, modern, hiptser hip holiday cards, Paper Culture is where you want to go, no doubt.  And right now they’re running a 25% off special, so go check it out.
